 Our Beginnings
In 1927 Robert Popkess opened Popkess Mortuary to serve the families of the Sabetha, Kansas area at the original location of 6th & Virginia. In 1963 Roger, Robert's son joined the family business.
In 1963, when Roger joined the family business, he and his wife, Lanna continued the standard of exellence started by his father. In 1986 Roger expanded the family commitment to serving the communities of northeastern Kansas by purchasing the funeral homes in Seneca, Axtell, and Centralia.
In 1988, Roger's son, Matt joined the funeral home, and his commitment to the community stands as a testament to the values and beliefs of his Father and Grandfather.
