Kent Edward Strahm

Kent Edward Strahm, 69, of Topeka, KS formerly of Sabetha, KS passed away Thursday, September 26, 2019 at the Rolling Hills Health Center in Topeka.

Kent was born March 15, 1950 in Sabetha, Kansas the son of Ivan and Charsta (Ukele) Strahm. He attended Oneida Elementary School and graduated from Bern High School in 1968. Kent joined the Kansas Army National Guard. After being discharged, he took classes at Missouri Northwestern, Highland Community College, and took culinary courses in Atchison, Kansas. In 2002, Kent moved to Valley Falls.

Kent enjoyed writing letters, and was known for his excellent penmanship. He built model cars, and did woodworking.

Kent was preceded in death by his parents.

Kent is survived by his brother, Larry (Lorene) Strahm of Sabetha, KS; his nephew, Lyle Strahm; his niece, Lisa Levi; great nieces and nephews, Kyle (Gretchen) Strahm, Ryan, Reagan, Mikaela, and Laura Strahm, Christopher Padres, and Joshua and Sarah Levi, and many cousins.

Funeral services will be Saturday, October 5, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Popkess Mortuary Chapel in Sabetha, KS. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to service time at the funeral home. Interment will be made in the Albany Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Albany Historical Society or the Tanner and Carson Ukele Education Fund, sent in care of Popkess Mortuary, 823 Virginia Street, Sabetha, KS 66534.
