Amelia Hoffman

August 21, 1937 — March 24, 2020

A melia Ann (Zimmerschied) Hoffman, 82, of Sabetha, Kansas passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2020 at the Sabetha Manor.

Amelia was born on August 21, 1937 in Sabetha, the daughter of Harry and Thelma (Elliott) Zimmershied. She attended Morrill schools and graduated from Morrill High School with the class of 1956.

Amelia was united in marriage to Melvin Hoffman on November 4, 1955. To this union were born three children. She was a homemaker and also babysat for neighboring families. Amelia was a member of the Morrill Baptist Church, enjoyed square dancing and crocheting. She loved her ten grandchildren and her fifteen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her step-father, Lee Shanholz; her step-mother, Gladys Zimmerschied; and her sister, Betty Wilson.

Amelia is survived by her husband, Mel of Sabetha, KS; her daughter, Cindy Feagan (George Johnson) of Sanibel, FL; her sons, Randy (Lynda) Hoffman of Sabetha, KS, and Richard (Lisa) Hoffman of Tecumseh, KS; ten grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, June 13, 2020 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Morrill Community Building in Morrill. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sabetha EMS, sent in care of Popkess Mortuary, 823 Virginia Street, Sabetha, KS 66534.
