Gale Epple

G ale Richard Epple, 79, of Sabetha, Kansas died Thursday, January 7, 2021 at Via Christi Village in Manhattan, Kansas.

Gale was born on November 23, 1941 to Erich Epple and Freda (Wenger) Epple on the family farm south of Sabetha, Kansas.   He attended Victory Country School at Rock Creek until the 8th grade.  He entered the United States Army on April 11, 1962.  He was honorably discharged on January 27, 1965.

Gale was gifted with many God given talents. He was a mechanic, welder, magnificent chef, seamstress, farmer, loyal friend, and the most dedicated father!  He will be greatly missed by all.

Gale is preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Lila Epple; and two brothers, Clyde Epple and Edwin Epple.

Gale is survived by his son, Eric Epple of California; his two daughters, Renee Sheehy of Las Vegas, Nevada and Wendy Edelman of Sabetha, Kansas; his ex-wife and the mother of his three children, Barbara Jean Tell of Las Vegas, Nevada; his sister, Evelyn (Jim) Meacham of Arizona; and his two sister-in-law’s, Lola Epple and Karla Epple of Sabetha, Kansas; and his grandchildren, Emily Sheehy, and Alexis, Taylor, Sierra, and Felicity Edelman.

There will be a register book available on Monday, January 18, 2021 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Popkess Mortuary in Sabetha, Kansas.  A private family memorial service and inurnment with military honors will be conducted at a later date and time.  The Popkess Mortuary in Sabetha, Kansas is assisting the family.
