Joelline Stoller

June 10, 1934 — May 19, 2021

J oelline La Vaun (Wikle) Stoller was born on June 10, 1934 at Sabetha, Kansas and passed away on May 19, 2021 at age 86.  She was the daughter of Addison Willer Wikle and Minnie Pearl (Fisher) Wikle.   Her early years were spent on a farm 3 ½ miles east of Sabetha and she attended Eagle Country School.  She moved with her parents into Sabetha in 1944.  She graduated from Sabetha High School in 1951.  She attended a technical school in Omaha and then worked in civil service for the Air Force in Dayton, Ohio and Rome, New York.

She was married to Glen Robert Stoller on June 14, 1953.  To this union were born three children, Robert Glen, David Lee, and Sue Ann Baumgartner.

She studied piano with Miss Pauline Fisher as a child and returned to her for further instruction in teaching piano as well as attending several workshops at Washburn University and Wichita State University.   She taught individual piano lessons in her home for over 40 years and was a member of the Northeast Piano Teachers Association.  She always enjoyed working with young people.

She was a member of the First Congregational Church, now known as NorthRidge, in Sabetha.  She was a past president of the Women’s Fellowship and assisted May Wines in teaching the Junior High Sunday School class for many years.  She was also a long-time member of the church choir.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Glen; and her six brothers, Baxter, Vernon, Lesley, Guy, Rayburn, and Hobart Wikle.

She is survived by her three children; her eight grandchildren, Gwen (Stoller) Morgan and Amanda Stoller, Matt and Mark Stoller, Darin, Steven, Delaney, and Sally Baumgartner; her two great-grandchildren, Abigail and Henry Morgan; and her many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, May 24, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at NorthRidge church in Sabetha, Kansas.  A visitation will be held on Sunday, May 23, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Popkess Mortuary Chapel in Sabetha, Kansas.  The interment will be in the Sabetha Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Mary Cotton Public Library in Sabetha sent in care of Popkess Mortuary, 823 Virginia, Sabetha, Kansas  66534.
