Judith Kay (Menold) Edelman, 80, of Sabetha, Kansas died Sunday, November 1, 2020 at her home in rural Sabetha surrounded by her family.
Judy was born on March 1, 1940 in Sabetha, Kansas to John and Dorothy (Kaeb) Menold. She grew up in the Sabetha area, spent five years doing domestic work in Peoria, Illinois and worked at various local businesses upon returning to the Sabetha area. Serving God while caring for her husband, children, and home were her priorities. Her hospitality will be remembered by many, and she loved cooking and serving others. Judy enjoyed hymns, singing, and spending time with her family and church family. She was lovingly cared for by her husband and family through her journey with dementia. Even as her health declined, her smile reflected the joy she had when surrounded by loved ones.
In early adulthood, she sought the Lord in repentance and was baptized in the Christian Apostolic Church.
On January 23, 1966, she was united in marriage to Eugene Edelman in Sabetha. Seven children were born to this union.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents; her two brothers, Leroy Menold and James Menold; and her brothers-in-law, Fred Edelman, Donald Steidinger, and Steven Kaufman.
Judy is survived by her husband, Eugene of the home; their children: Sheila (Todd) Rokey, Lynn (Alisa) Edelman, Luci Goodman, Anita (Dwight) Rokey all of Sabetha, Wendy (Greg) Braker of Oronogo, MO, Marci (Darin) Grimm of Morrill, KS, and Steven (Kelly) Edelman of Sabetha; 39 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She is also survived by six sisters: Miriam (Clayton) Strahm, Alice Steidinger, Marge (Morris) Edelman, Helen (Leroy) Meyer, Joann Edelman and Wilma Kaufman, and one brother, Don (Pat) Menold; and her two sisters-in-law, Kathy (Joe) Rokey and Louise Menold.
