Roberta "Bobby" Argabright

R oberta “Bobby” Jean (Hundley) Argabright, 90, of Sabetha, KS passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, March 16, 2020.

Bobby was born on November 30, 1929 in Sabetha, the daughter of Joseph and Marcena (Neiberger) Hundley.  She attended school in Sabetha and graduated with the class of 1948.  She was united in marriage to Ernest Argabright on October 10, 1948 at Sabetha.  Three children were born to this union.

Bobby was a waitress at the Midway Café for seven years and in 1964 she managed the Kiddo Lounge. That same year she and Ernest started their own business, Argabright Welding. She managed the books for the business until she retired in 1996.  Bobby was also part owner of the Hen House, a ceramics business located in Sabetha.

Bobby will be remembered for many things, but most notably her love for her grandchildren. She was a talented embroiderer and embroidered quilts for all her grandchildren. Bobby was devoted to her faith and the United Brethren in Christ Church.  She served in many leadership roles over her 70 years of membership.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ernest on September 1, 2004; her infant sister, Betty Hundley; and her sister, Beverly Meister.

Bobby is survived by her son, Jim (Barb) Argabright of Sabetha, KS; two daughters, Deborah (Lewis) Taylor of Hoyt, KS and Twila (Kermit) Frey of Rose Hill, KS; one brother, Joe Hundley of Sabetha, KS; 10 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.

Private family graveside services will be held Friday, March 20, 2020 at the Albany Cemetery.  Bobby will lie in state at the Popkess Mortuary on Thursday, March 19, 2020.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the United Brethren in Christ Church, sent in care of the funeral home, 823 Virginia St., Sabetha, KS 66534.

We encourage those individuals that want to pay their respects to Bobby and her family to do so. Please feel free to come in and sign the register book at the funeral home. We just ask that you use good judgement and precautions for everyone’s safety.
